Gaston County Dyeing Machine

Pulp and Paper
In filtration devices, blowers assist in dust removal and provide ventilation to regulate temperature and humidity levels, as well as to mitigate hazardous processing fumes from pulp. Carbon Black
Carbon black occurs with the introduction of hydrocarbons (such as fuel or gas) to high temperatures. Multi-stage centrifugal blowers create a high volume of air at a high pressure to provide forced air through the combustion process. Some products created with carbon black are printer cartridges, rubber and plastics.

Carbon Dioxide
Well-designed blowers will safely handle compressed gases, such as carbon dioxide, that can be used in varied process applications, from greenhouses to beverage carbonation. In the automotive and heavy industries, CO2 blowers are commonly used to cool laser metal cutting machinery.

Fermentation
Yeast fermentation is an application in breweries and bakeries, along with other facilities where biogas and ethanol are produced. Fermentation tanks are filled with a reaction liquid that is often supplied with air from blowers.

Foundry Operations
Foundries use blowers for electric panel cooling, ventilating, pressurizing, and dust proofing. In the melting shop, the largest blowers form part of the pollution control system.

Blowers prevent expensive foundry downtime caused by dirt or by overheating in electrical components.

Black Liquor
Paper manufacturing involves a method called the Kraft process, in which wood is converted into wood pulp and then paper. The Kraft process creates a toxic byproduct known as black liquor.

A gasification system produced with blowers can channel the liquor into a high-pressure gasifier to produce electricity, steam, or potentially any other synthetic gas product as energy.

Environmental
The earth’s water purification cycle depends on naturally occurring forces, including the aerobic digestion of waste.

Blowers are used to pump air through wastewater to enhance the aerobic digestion of organics, providing a way of controlling the BOD (biological oxygen demand) involved.

Blowers are also useful in the movement of wastewater and sludge through treatment systems, as well as controlling odors and digestor gases.

Soil Remediation
Soil remediation refers to strategies employed for the purification and revitalization of soil.

Volatile liquids vaporize at normal atmospheric pressures and temperatures. When environmental pollutants are volatile, blowers are sometimes used to remediate the site.

The site owner, consultant and the EPA decide which technology will be used to remediate the site.

Soil remediation is often done in conjunction with other environmental remediation efforts, including air injection.

Soil Vapor Extraction
Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE) systems consist of a blower package connected to a series of wells. The blower applies a negative pressure above the water table to remove hazardous vapor phase contaminants from the soil.

Once the vapors are removed they are typically treated at the surface. This technology is often used to increase efficiency and address contaminated groundwater.

Pressure and Vacuum Chambers
Regenerative blowers move a large volume of air at low pressure or a vacuum. They are widely used in areas where high air pressure is needed.

Common applications of the blower are pneumatic conveying systems, parts handling with vacuum systems, packaging, sewage treatment systems, fish pond aeration, powder transportation, and printing.
